Picnic

We had another great picnic. About 23 persons were present. There was wonderful food and conversation. The weather was kind to us: it was not too hot or wet! We want to thank Dave Jones for all the work he put into making this picnic a success!

He has a new lathe, and brought in some woodturnings to show what it will do. He showed us some Mahogany turnings on which he had used some of the surface enhancement techniques demonstrated by Irene Grafer at our June meeting.

He also had an attractive rimmed Maple bowl

He also had a nice turned ball cap.
Jerry Smith also had some nice hats he had turned. Two were from Cherry,

and the third was from Cherry but was painted in a Camo design by his sister.

The Newsletter will be sent by email to those members who have given me their email address. Those who do not have email addresses listed with me will receive the usual hardcopy newsletter by US snailmail. Any others who wish a newsletter by mail should let me know.

This email contains links to pictures of the "Show and Tell" items. The Newsletter with pictures is also available on the website.

Instead of trying to add photos of all the show and tell items to the members’ gallery, I will rely on photos sent in by the members. So please send me pictures of your work so that I can add it to the gallery.
