Our president, Joe Smith presided over the meeting.
There were 27 persons signed in. Pete Jordan, Steve Tracey, and Phil Bingham were visiting.

Business
There will be 5 One Way lathes and 50 - $100.00 Gift Certificates given as door prizes for attendees.
Each member attending may bring, at no cost, a teenager (10 – 17 years old). There will be several Jet mini lathes and turning tool sets given to some of those teens attending the symposium. Bonnie Cline and Nick Cook will work with these youths during the symposium.
Bob Fleming has agreed to donate up to $1000 toward the lathe. Joe Keeler and Dave Jones agreed to donate $100 each. Others wishing to contribute are asked to talk to Dave Jones or Tom Schottle
"Put A Lid On It!"

Ron DeWitt - Artisan Services Coordinator for Tamarack – agreed to judge the "Put A Lid On It" contest.
Ron also explained several programs sponsored by Tamarack such as insurance and grants of up to $500. He will check to see if we might be able to get a grant to help pay for the lathe.
The winning entry was a Walnut box made from boards by Byron Young.
There were three honorable mentions:
Dave Jones made a Cedar hollow form with a Holly Base and spike.
Joe Keeler had a Maple hollowform with a snap top.
Joe Smith made a bowl with a Cherry burl hat top.

Show and Tell
Even with these wonderful lidded turnings, there were still some other items for show and tell.
Next Month’s Meeting
On March 11th Ron Damon will demonstrate stone turning.
Miscellaneous
The Newsletter will be sent by email to those members who have given me their email address. This medium will contain an HTML document in which I have included links to pictures of the "Show and Tell" items as well as a link to the website. Those who do not have email addresses listed with me will receive the usual hardcopy newsletter by US snailmail. Any others who wish a newsletter by mail should let me know.
Please send me pictures of your work so that I can add it to the gallery.
