Then he turned a small vase (or candleholder), which he decorated with burning and painting. Compared to other demonstrators, John used mainly scrapers. His finish was paste wax. Beautiful turnings!

After lunch Byron Young demonstrated turning a hollow vase.

He hollow the vase in two halves, then put them together afterward. One could not see the joint.

Thanks fellows, it was an extremely useful program.

Byron Young brought in a nice spaulted Maple vase.

He also had a couple small vases from Bradford Pear and from Peach, as well as a large vase from green Cherry.

Tom Schottle showed us the finished tool handle he had turned at last month’s demonstration.

Clarence Clarkson brought in a really neat wall hanging. The pieces can be rearranged, being held together with magnets. This is a new, improved version of a wall hanging he brought in a few years ago.

There was a beautiful piece of wood turned with just a shallow depression.
He had a Fiddle-back Maple bowl

a beautifully figured Walnut dish,
another nice Walnut bowl, and a small Walnut hollowform.
Bill Morris showed us a variety of nice items he had turned. He had a Cherry and Walnut candle holder.

He showed us a very nice bud vase from Cherry he had turned using a SKEW!
He also had a Maple bud vase,

Maple ring holder,
